Teaching for children with ADHD

Children with ADHD may have difficulty maintaining concentration for long periods of time, and it can be challenging to keep up in a traditional class where there are many simultaneous demands on attention, calmness, and self-regulation.

With homeschooling, the child has the opportunity to learn at their own pace and without constant interruptions. School To Go offers a flexible and structured platform that is particularly suitable for children with ADHD – and which makes it easy to adapt the teaching to the child's needs.

Note: Children with ADHD can also use School To Go in the classroom as additional support.

School To Go offers:

Listen again and again

School To Go offers short, structured lessons with audio that can be repeated as needed, allowing children with ADHD to learn in small, manageable chunks that match their attention span.

Each lesson lasts approximately 20 minutes and includes both listening and tasks. The child can take breaks, rewind and continue working when it suits them. This creates an overview, calm and flexibility in learning.

Active learning

Our audio lessons can be listened to anywhere – even while the child is moving. This means the child doesn’t have to sit still in a chair to receive good instruction.

This flexibility supports children's need for movement and makes it easier to maintain focus and motivation. In this way, School To Go becomes a tool that strengthens both learning and well-being in children with ADHD.

Rules and legislation for children with ADHD

Children with ADHD may be offered special education or extra support in primary school if their concentration difficulties or behavioral challenges require it.

The municipality is obliged to ensure that the child receives the support he or she needs; either in a regular school with support measures or in a special school. Homeschooling is also an option if the parents consider that it is best for the child. In this case, the parents are responsible for ensuring that the children receive education that is commensurate with what is generally required in primary school. The municipality is obliged to supervise whether the child receives appropriate education.

Help and subsidies

Parents of children with ADHD can seek help through the municipality's PPR, which can assess the child's needs and provide support, for example in the form of special education, assistive devices or pedagogical guidance.

We can recommend using a social advisor via www.digitalsocialraadgiver.dk if there is a need for individual advice and consultancy.
