We have classic and modern subjects

We have all the classic knowledge subjects, but also modern competence subjects. The competence subjects cover, among other things, Mental Health, Technology Understanding, Education and Jobs, as well as 21st Century skills, also known as Soft Skills. Find your desired subjects below.

Danish

In the subject Danish, students must promote their experience and understanding of literature and other aesthetic texts, professional texts, language and communication as sources for the development of personal and cultural identity. The subject must promote the students' ability to empathize and their aesthetic, ethical and historical understanding.

Mathematics

In the subject of mathematics, students must develop mathematical competencies and acquire skills and knowledge so that they can behave appropriately in mathematics-related situations in their current and future daily, leisure, educational, working and social lives.

English

In the subject English, the student must develop linguistic, textual and intercultural competences, so that they can use English nationally and globally in their current and future lives. Students must develop their curiosity and awareness of the English language and be able to choose suitable language learning and communication strategies as a basis for foreign language learning.

History

In the subject of history, students must achieve an understanding of coherence in interaction with a chronological overview and be able to use this understanding in their everyday and social lives. Students must become familiar with Danish culture and history.

Social studies

In the subject of social studies, students must acquire knowledge and skills so that they can take a reflective stance on society and its development. Students must acquire competencies for active participation in a democratic society.

World religions

In the subject of religion, students must acquire knowledge and skills that enable them to understand and relate to the significance of the religious dimension for the individual's view of life and their relationship with others. Students must acquire knowledge about different religions and views of life.

Nature & Technology

In the subject of science/technology, students must develop science competencies and thereby gain insight into how science contributes to our understanding of the world. In science/technology, students must acquire skills and knowledge about important phenomena and relationships, as well as develop thoughts, language and concepts about nature and technology that have value in daily life.

Biology

In the subject of biology, students must develop natural science competencies and thus gain insight into how biology – and biological research – in interaction with the other natural sciences contributes to our understanding of the world.

Physics/Chemistry

In physics/chemistry, students must acquire skills and knowledge about basic physical and chemical conditions in nature and technology, with an emphasis on understanding basic physical and chemical concepts and relationships, as well as important applications of physics and chemistry.

Geography

In geography, students must acquire skills and knowledge about basic natural and cultural prerequisites for living conditions in Denmark and the rest of the world, with an emphasis on understanding basic geographical concepts, connections and societies' use of natural resources and resources.

Physical Education

German

In the subject of physical education, students must develop physical, athletic, social and personal competencies. Students must gain knowledge of a diverse sports culture and develop a desire for movement. The subject of physical education must give students experience with and insight into the importance of sports for health and well-being, as well as into the interaction between society and sports culture.

Students must develop skills to communicate in German both orally and in writing, so that they can use German nationally and globally in their current and future lives. The subject German must provide students with basic knowledge of cultural and social conditions in German-speaking countries and thereby strengthen their international and intercultural understanding.

French

Students must develop skills to communicate in French both orally and in writing, so that they can use French nationally and globally in their current and future lives. The students must simultaneously develop their linguistic awareness and foreign language learning as well as strengthen their cultural and intercultural understanding through cultural encounters.

Visual arts

In the subject of visual arts, students must develop skills to experience, produce and analyze images. Students must be able to observe, reflect and use imagery in communicative and innovative processes.

Music

In the subject of music, students must develop skills to experience music and the subject must contribute to the students' development. Students develop an understanding of Danish and foreign musical tradition as part of cultural life, partly as it is part of current social life, and partly in its historical perspective.

Food & Cooking

In the subject of Food and Cooking, students must acquire skills and knowledge about food, taste, health, foods, cooking and meals and thus develop competencies that enable them to choose and evaluate their own taste and food choices.

Crafts & Design

In the subject of craft and design, students must acquire knowledge and skills, and through practical and sensory experiences, develop craft competencies to design, manufacture and evaluate products with aesthetic, functional and communicative value.

Mental health

Mental health is divided into academic and social well-being.Working with students' well-being and establishing strong communities is a crucial area in primary school. Students gain knowledge and skills so that they can work with their own and others' well-being and know the tools for good well-being.

Technology understanding

In the subject of technology understanding, students must develop professional competencies and acquire skills and knowledge so that they can constructively and critically participate in the development of digital artifacts and understand their meaning.

Education & Jobs

In the subject of work knowledge, students must acquire skills to be able to assess career paths and opportunities. Subsection 2. Students must acquire comprehensive knowledge about the labor market and working life through concrete experiences and reflection. Subsection 3. The subject must provide students with knowledge about the conditions in a changing labor market and in a changing working life.

Economy

The aim is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their future financial lives. It gives students an understanding of how to earn and spend money wisely in order to secure one's future. 

Cooperation

Students can communicate and work together with others to achieve a common goal or solution. They can consider other people's ideas without judgment or criticism, as well as explain their own ideas. They can take and apply feedback from their peers.

Communication

The goal is to prepare students for a collaborative and interconnected world where they must work with others to achieve success. Collaboration teaches students to communicate effectively and respectfully and to appreciate the value of diverse perspectives. It also teaches them how to develop meaningful relationships.

Critical Thinking

Students learn to demonstrate confidence in dealing with complexity and ambiguity.
Students can seek external sources of information when they do not know the answer to a problem, and going forward, they will know how to have a healthy skepticism about information they receive.

Creativity & Entrepreneurship

Students can generate more original ideas.
Students can assess the quality of ideas and choose the best ones to shape into a product
Students use ingenuity and imagination, going beyond conventional boundaries when shaping ideas for a product
Students can adopt different perspectives to deepen and improve ideas.

Concentration

The purpose is to gain knowledge and skills, as well as to train how to use one's concentration skills to concentrate for longer periods of time to perform tasks and activities.

Problem solving

Students gain knowledge and methods for working with problem solving. Students demonstrate persistence in working with difficult problems. Students can clearly formulate problems they encounter and choose solution strategies.

Human rights

Working with human rights dilemmas in teaching strengthens students as they practice arguing nuancedly about current issues through knowledge, reflection and discussion.

Sustainable Development Goals

The aim is to help students develop an understanding of the importance of creating a healthy, safe and prosperous world for all. Learning about these topics can equip students with the knowledge of how to take care of the world and can also encourage them to be part of positive change by taking action in their own lives and communities.

Health and sexual education

The goal of the education is for the child and young person to develop action skills, enabling them, alone and together with others, to intervene in changing situations with the aim of promoting sexual health.
