Homeschooling for children with autism

The traditional school environment can be challenging for many children with autism. A classroom with many students and sounds can be overstimulating and difficult to navigate due to the many sensory inputs and social demands.

Homeschooling for children with autism therefore allows for a calmer and more structured learning experience, where the child's individual needs are in focus. Here, School To Go can be used as your professional support.

School To Go offers:

Structured and calm sound universe

School To Go offers a structured approach to homeschooling for children with autism with our audio-based teaching.

The audio lessons can be played in a quiet environment that minimizes sensory input, making it easier for the child to focus on the content. This allows the child to learn at their own pace without the challenges that can arise in a physical classroom environment, while also reducing overstimulation.

Custom tasks

Our extensive curriculum offers ample opportunity to adapt the tasks to suit your child's level and unique needs. All of our teaching follows the state's official learning and competency goals and is built according to the same structure. It is therefore easy to understand and follow, which is especially important for children with autism, where predictability and routine are core elements.

School To Go is particularly suitable for families with children with autism who are looking for a structured and flexible solution for homeschooling. Here you will find a learning environment with a focus on calm and predictability, where the child can learn at their own pace.

Rules and legislation for children with autism

Children with autism have the right to special education if their needs cannot be met in a regular school. Under the Primary Education Act, it is the responsibility of the municipality to offer the necessary resources, such as special schools or support schemes.

Parents also have the option to choose to homeschool their child, but the education must meet the academic goals set by the state. The municipality supervises the education to ensure that the child's needs are met.

Help and subsidies

Parents of children with autism can seek help through the municipality's Pedagogical Psychological Counseling (PPR), which can help assess the child's needs and offer support such as special education or assistive devices. In addition, additional cost benefits can be applied for under the Service Act if homeschooling requires special aids or resources.

We can recommend using a social advisor via www.digitalsocialraadgiver.dk if there is a need for individual advice and consultancy.
